What an interesting and fun challenge we had this past weekend. Overall, the scores were not as good as some would have suspected, but we had a couple teams show up and light up the scoreboard. In the 2-man scramble format, Mallen/Carpick posted the score-to-beat (-5) after Saturday’s round, and it wasn’t until Ferley and Breen scored a nifty 7-under 64 on Sunday that Mallen’s team was bumped from the top spot. Teams are locked and loaded now, and will be interesting to see what they can do in the Modified Alternate Shot format in the next round, on July 6th-7th. Will the same teams perform well under that kind of pressure? Can’t wait to find out.

NOTE: Next tournament is the Captain vs Vice-Captain match-play challenge (trophy tournament). All Kelbert players are invited to double-up and play their matches on this weekend (last day to play Round 1 matches and first opportunity to play Round 2 matches). Let me know, and we will pair you up, with one player being allocated to the Captain’s team, and the other player to the Vice-Captain’s squad.
